TransMedia is a research group which was created in London 2004 during the International Conference “In So Many Words” (2004).
Its members, academics from different areas within AVT, have a common interest in translation research from a multidisciplinary approach which includes, rather than excludes, any language combination and emphasizes on minority languages. Another feature of the group is the professional background of its members, who combine both the academic methodology of research and the hands on experience of real life translation in different AVT modalities in different European countries. The language combinations and the geographical situation of the group members are also an important features, because they allow (comparative) research into a variety of practices. |
